WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN INSTITUTE OF BUILDING DESIGN?

The Institute raises its concerns and makes recommendations that affect the livelihood of the Architectural Professional at all levels be it the Regulator of the Architectural Professional, Local Municipality, SABS and Government.

The Institute engages with other Professional Voluntary Associations on matters affecting the architectural professional.

The Institute contributes and comments on government policies, white papers and discipline specific issues that impact on the profession.

The Institute works closely with statutory bodies that develop policy that affect the Architectural Profession and the Built Environment.

The Institute promotes education and training for its members as well as promotes the interests of its members in practice with respect to technical, professional and ethical behaviour.

Through strategic partnerships, industry engagement, and a strong professional network, SAIBD strives to empower building design professionals while contributing positively to the development of safe, sustainable, and well-designed built environments throughout South Africa.
