Objectives

The aim of this CPD event is to equip designers with a basic knowledge of disciplines involved at the start of a project which are not often taught, but are of special value to the designer. Although it is basic in approach, it could serve as a refresher for those designers with higher formal training as well. The CPD will also give a better understanding of the surveyor and engineer’s disciplines on site. This CPD will address the basic principles of surveying sites, and understanding soil properties and dynamics underlying SANS 10400 Parts F, G and H as well as SANS 2001: CM2. It will also give a short overview of the beginnings of architecture in South Africa.
