An Introduction to Climatic Analysis, Presenter: Gerald Mandevhana

Description: Designing for various climates using a sustainable approach can be vague and immeasurable. Through the power of computation, we can now simulate performance though buildings. By adjusting the form of buildings through an iterative approach, we can optimise efficiencies and performance.
This workshop is a 2 day, 2.5 x hour interactive workshop for Category 1 CPD Points.
Content: Looking deeper into the context of sustainability, this course will delve into using BIM and visual scripting tools to make passive design measurable through computation. It involves looking at climatic contexts, setting up parameters for them and allowing for performance analysis using computational tools.
The workshop comes with the first chapter of WWA:FOA for free. Additional to the workshop, it is recommended that participants buy a copy of the WWA:FOA e-book. A free guidebook will be provided to SAIBD members.
