An Introduction to Computational Design

Description: Ever wondered if programming and architectural design could be related? Welcome to computational design! Through viewing design as a result of variables and parameters, we can shape the forms of our buildings in novel and interesting ways using visual programming.

 

This workshop is a 2 day, 2.5 x hour interactive workshop for Category 1 CPD Points.

 

Content: Delving into the concept of computation, this course will delve into using BIM and visual scripting tools to make parametric forms and automate tasks. It involves setting up parameters to manipulate form and utilizing automation to increase efficiencies.

 

The workshop comes with the first chapter of WWA:FOA for free. Additional to the workshop, it is recommended that participants buy a copy of the WWA:FOA e-book. A free guidebook will be provided to SAIBD members.

  • Cancellation/refunds will only be accepted a week prior to the set date.  Should notification of cancellation not be received within this period, refunds will not be issued due to non-attendance
